Toad Hollow Athletics first opened in 1983 in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania by Dorothy Munger. The property on which the building resided was named Toad Hollow. When the verbally robust toads invaded the area every spring, the reason behind the name became quite evident! Nonetheless, Toad Hollow Athletics has grown from its small beginnings to a leader in aquatic supplies not only for the east coast, but for the entire country.
Today Toad Hollow sells retail swimming apparel, but specializes in team sales and technical suits.
Dot swam for the University of Maryland and is still a nationally ranked master swimmer. Her husband, Peter, swam and dove for Washington and Jefferson. Their son, Philip swam for Washington College and daughter Anna swam for the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Trials.
While Dot no longer owns the business, we still try to run the business with the same principles. Swimming and fitness is not just a business, it is a way of life.
